Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlyn Duffey.

Hi Kaitlyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story? Hi! My name is Kaitlyn Fisher Duffey and I am the owner of Nourish CBD. Creating Nourish CBD is something that has been in my blood for my entire life. My love of watching things grow and flourish, and the knowledge behind what these herbs and plants can do for our bodies really sparked a fire inside of me that has never be dimmed. I have always been fascinated by the human body, and how simple acts can impact our health in a huge way. Learning the properties of herbs and plants and using them to heal my own body and the bodies of others has been a driving force behind who I am. I harnessed my passion for healing the body into massage therapy, which will always be my first love. My passion for massage is what led me to CBD. Nourish CBD was truly born at the massage table. This was the first place I saw how remarkable CBD could be for the human body. As time went on I felt more and more compelled to learn about CBD and what was happening on a physiological level. The more I learned, the more I was in awe of what CBD can do for the body.

After working with CBD for many years, falling more and more in love with it along the way, I had a HUGE epiphany that I needed to be working with it on a deeper level. The thought just strolled into my mind, fully formed and full force. It came to me to use my passion and knowledge for herbs and oils and combine them with CBD. My idea to bring CBD together with plant and herb oils that contain healing and therapeutic properties is what encapsulates Nourish CBD. I was immediately brought back to the little girl in my parents’ backyard, mixing elixirs and lotions. In a way, that is my favorite part about Nourish. I feel this endeavor has Nourished parts of me, and brought back parts of me that just make me feel alive. I firmly believe that you should enjoy your work and I have found joy through Nourish CBD every single day. It exhilarates me to know that I have curated products that help, heal, and ease other humans.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road? Becoming an entrepreneur is something I have wanted in my life from a very young age. I watched my parents run their own business and I have always loved that lifestyle. When I began establishing my massage practice in 2014, I knew that I would eventually be self-employed. I launched Nourish CBD in April, 2019 and it wasn’t until August, 2020 that I took the exciting leap to full self-employment. This was a huge step for me! I welcomed being my own boss smack dab in the middle of a pandemic. I decided I did not wish to return to the spa after businesses opened up again last summer and to follow my dreams that are Nourish CBD. Operating and navigating a business through a pandemic really has been a wild ride. It was none the less an EXCELLENT opportunity to network, build my online store, and to build my brand and vision.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up? I grew up in the beautiful foothills of Lakewood, Colorado. With the Rocky Mountains just a short drive away and Red Rocks in my backyard, I was raised to enjoy nature and also to appreciate it. I grew up with family as the core of my life and have so many memories of camping, swimming, and just being together with my family. I have an incredibly special group of friends that I have journeyed through life with since kindergarten, and they have always been a huge support my entire existence. They are a huge reason I am who I am today. I was lucky to grow up with a mother who adores gardening, and she passed her green thumb and love for gardening along to me. I have so many memories of curating body scrubs, mixing potions and elixirs, picking herbs and flowers to grind together and mix into lotions or oils as a child. Often times these ingredients were from my own backyard. I sparked a love for music when I was pretty young. I’ve played piano almost my entire life and clarinet since 4th grade. I picked up some other instruments along the way and even went to college for Music Education before completing a degree in Massage Therapy. Music has always been a constant for me and without it I wouldn’t be who I am today.
